TT-20, TT-30 and TT-40 Wear Parts by Code, Plus TT-60 Reference

Codes are for Type A pumps. The TT-30 passes spherical solids up to 2 inches and the TT-40 up to 3 inches.

Every TT has a two-vane enclosed impeller and no wear plate. The wear ring takes that job, so a new ring restores the clearance the impeller needs.

TSP Trash Pump Replacement Parts

The TSP seals its casing with an O-ring, so no paper gaskets are needed. Its ductile iron diffuser has a built-in wear plate, and the diffuser is replaceable.

The TSP parts lists mark the mechanical seal, sleeve, flapper, O-ring, valve weights and wing nuts as parts to keep on the shelf. Those codes are the place to start a trash pump rebuild kit for your model.

Check These Before You Order

• Open the pump. The TT clean-out cover and the TSP front cover come off with wing nuts, no wrenches needed.
• Look at the impeller. Check the vanes for chips, rounding or a wrapped rag or rope.
• Check the wear surface. That is the wear ring on a TT and the diffuser wear plate on a TSP.
• Check the flapper. A torn check valve rubber lets the casing drain and slows priming.
• Look for a wet shaft. Water at the shaft points to the mechanical seal.
• Clear the strainer. A blocked trash pump strainer starves the pump of water.

TT to FTT, TT-60 to FTT-40, and TSP to FTSP

The TT line continues as the Franklin Electric FTT. The TT-20 matches the FTT-20, the TT-30 matches the FTT-30, and the TT-40 (order number 608911) matches the FTT-40 (item 90240004).

There is no FTT-60. A TT-60 owner can move to an FTT-40 with coupler adapters on the suction and discharge, as covered in our guide to the TT-60 to FTT-40 switch. The FTT-40 is the smaller pump, so check that its flow covers your job first.

The TSP continues as the Franklin FTSP. When a casing is cracked or parts run out, the Franklin FTT frame mount pumps are the new option for TT owners.

Yes, a trash pump will move mud and slurry, as long as the solids fit through the impeller. The Monarch TT-40 listing names manure slurry transfer and construction dewatering, and the TSP listing names hydro-seeding slurry. The TT-30 passes spherical solids up to 2 inches and the TSP-4 up to 2 inches. On muddy jobs, check the impeller and the wear ring or wear plate at every service.

Will a trash pump pump sewage?

A trash pump will lift water about as deep as its rated suction lift. The Monarch TSP series is rated for a maximum suction lift of 25 feet on the 2, 3 and 4 inch models. Measure from the water surface up to the pump inlet. Keep the suction hose short, airtight and free of kinks, since air leaks and tight bends reduce lift. The TT listings do not publish a lift figure, so ask us about your setup.

How to tell if an impeller needs replacing?

To tell if an impeller needs replacing, compare your flow to the pump's chart, then look inside. On a TT, pull the clean-out cover and check the vanes for chips, rounded edges or wear from sand. Also check the wear ring, because a worn ring lowers output even when the impeller looks fine. On a TSP, check the impeller and the diffuser wear plate together. Replace any part that has lost its shape.
