Cement/Mortar Mixers

Cement mixers, mortar mixers and hydraulic mortar mixers for construction and masonry work.

The two are not interchangeable. A cement mixer tumbles the drum to combine concrete, which suits pouring work. A mortar mixer keeps the drum still and turns paddles inside it, which is what produces the consistent, workable mix that masonry and plaster need. Using a cement mixer for mortar gives an uneven mix that stiffens unevenly.

Hydraulic models take their drive from a machine already on site rather than carrying their own engine, which suits crews who have a hydraulic source and want one less engine to fuel and maintain. Size on batch volume and how fast the crew places it, since a mixer that cannot keep up sets the pace of the whole job.
