Monarch WS50H Series Submersible Effluent Pumps – High Head

The Monarch WS50H Series is a specialized line of submersible effluent pumps designed for applications requiring high head performance. Built with the same durability as the standard WS series but engineered for greater lift, these 1/2 HP pumps are ideal for residential septic systems, low-pressure pipe (LPP) systems, and light commercial waste transfer where gravity flow is not possible.

Constructed from rugged Cast Iron Class 30, the WS50H series is built to withstand harsh environments. The motor housing is oil-filled, providing superior heat dissipation and permanent lubrication for the double ball bearings, ensuring a long operational life. Unlike standard pumps, the “H” designation signifies a high-head capability, achieving a shut-off head of up to 63 feet.

High-Performance Non-Clog Design

Reliability is critical in effluent pumping. The WS50H features a specially designed two-vane Cast Iron impeller. This non-clog impeller is engineered to handle spherical solids up to 3/4 inch in diameter, significantly reducing the risk of jamming compared to plastic alternatives. The pump also features a stainless steel shaft and a carbon/ceramic mechanical seal to prevent leaks and corrosion.

Key Features

  • High Head Performance: Designed for high-lift applications with a max head of 63 feet.
  • Heavy-Duty Construction: Motor and pump housing made of Cast Iron Class 30.
  • 1/2 HP Motor: Capacitor start design for high torque, oil-filled for thermal protection.
  • Non-Clog Impeller: 2-vane cast iron impeller handles up to 3/4″ solids.
  • Commercial Grade Seal: Mechanical carbon/ceramic Type 6, 5/8″ rotary seal.
  • Corrosion Resistant: 416 Stainless steel motor shaft and stainless steel fasteners.
  • Automatic & Manual Options: Available with mercury-free float switches (AM models) or manual operation (M models).
  • Discharge: 2″ NPT standard discharge.

Applications

The WS50H is perfectly suited for fluid transfer in:

  • High-head residential septic systems
  • Effluent removal
  • Sump and sewage ejection
  • Light commercial wastewater transfer
  • Dewatering zones with significant vertical lift requirements

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes the WS50H different from the standard WS50?

The “H” in WS50H stands for “High Head.” The WS50H is capable of pumping fluid to a vertical height of 63 feet, whereas the standard WS50 maxes out at 42 feet. It handles higher pressure applications.

What is the solids handling size for the WS50H?

The WS50H high head models are designed to handle solids up to 3/4″ in diameter using a 2-vane cast iron non-clog impeller.

Does the WS50H pump require a control panel?

Automatic models (ending in “AM”) come with a piggyback float switch and do not strictly require a panel for basic operation. Manual models (ending in “M”) require a separate control switch or panel to operate.

Is the power cord replaceable?

Yes, the power cord is sealed at the motor housing but is designed to be serviceable. The WS50H uses SJOW cord type.
