Water has to move, and the only power on site is an outlet or a three-phase panel. Monarch electric motor pumps cover that job, from a 1/2 HP ACE-50 on a household circuit to EPE end suction pumps with 30 HP motors. This page sorts the eight series by job, so you can find your pump, its parts, or the series page that lists its replacement.
Which Monarch Motor Driven Pump Fits Your Job?
Clean water transfer, boosting, and irrigation point to the ACE or EPE centrifugal pumps, and well water points to the MJS or MJC jet pumps. Lawn sprinklers point to the NSPHE, RLHE, or SPHE. Water below the pump, septic effluent, portable transfer, or fertilizer points to the self-priming BSE, BE-S, B50S or BSEF.
Choose Monarch Electric Motor Pumps by Job
| Your job | Series | Pump type |
|---|---|---|
| Clean water transfer, boosting, hot water to 200 degrees F | ACE | End suction centrifugal, 1/2 to 5 HP |
| High flow irrigation and industrial water supply | EPE and EPT | End suction centrifugal, up to 30 HP |
| Water for a home, cabin, or farm from a well | MJS and MJC | Shallow well and convertible jet |
| Lawn and turf sprinkler systems | NSPHE, RLHE, SPHE | Self-priming sprinkler, 1 to 5 HP on NSPHE |
| Portable clean water transfer | B50S | 1/2 HP utility transfer |
| Septic effluent lifted by a pump outside the tank | BE-S | Self-priming effluent, 1/3 to 3/4 HP |
| Water that sits below the pump | BSE | Close-coupled self-priming, 3/4 to 2 HP |
| Liquid fertilizer and farm chemical transfer | BSEF | Self-priming with a Viton seal |
The Eight Monarch Electric Motor Pump Series
ACE Centrifugal Pumps
The ACE comes in three builds: C-face models from 1/2 to 2 HP, ACE-S square flange models, and 3 and 5 HP JM frame models. Cast iron casings and seals rated to 200 degrees F suit hot water and boosting. See order numbers and parts on the Monarch ACE pump page.
EPE and EPT End Suction Pumps
These are the largest pumps in this group, in sizes up to 4 x 3 inches. The EPE bolts to a JM or JP motor, and the EPT frame mount runs from a belt or coupling. Find casing, impeller, wear ring, and seal kit codes in the EPE series parts listing.
MJS and MJC Jet Pumps
The MJC is a convertible jet pump for wells up to 80 or 90 feet deep by model, with a 30-50 PSI pressure switch and gauge. The MJSE-50 is a 1/2 HP jet utility pump with a hose adapter and a plug-in cord. See kits and codes on the Monarch jet pump page.
NSPHE, RLHE, and SPHE Sprinkler Pumps
These self-priming pumps feed lawn and turf sprinkler zones. The NSPHE runs from 1 to 5 HP and has a built-in suction check valve for fast priming. Compare models on the Monarch sprinkler pump page.
B50S Utility Transfer Pump
The B50S is a 1/2 HP self-priming utility pump with a cord, built for moving clean water from one spot to another. Its motor runs on 115 or 230 volts. Find parts on the B50S utility pump page.
BE-S Self-Priming Effluent Pumps
The BE-S33, BE-S50, and BE-S75 sit outside the tank and lift septic effluent. Compare all three on the BE-S effluent pump page.
BSE Self-Priming Utility Pumps
The BSE-S75 to BSE-S200 are close-coupled self-priming pumps with 1-1/4 or 2 inch ports. They pull water that sits below the pump for drainage, transfer, and sprinkler feed. Check sizes on the BSE pump series page.
BSEF Fertilizer Transfer Pumps
The BSEF uses a stainless steel and Viton seal made for nitrogen and phosphorous fertilizer solutions and farm chemicals. Models run from the BSEF-150TE to the BSEF-750TE. Review seal and model details on the BSEF chemical pump page.
Motor Mounts on Monarch Electric Pumps
The motor mount decides which replacement motor or pump end fits. Check it before you order.
- 56J C-face: ACE-50 to ACE-200. Pump end kits, called Less Power, bolt to a motor you already own.
- Square flange: ACE-S models and the MJSE-50, with a threaded motor shaft on the jet pump.
- JM frame: ACE-300 and ACE-500, and EPE pumps up to 15 HP.
- JP frame: larger EPE pumps, up to 30 HP on the 4 x 3 inch models.
- Frame mount: the EPT, which takes a belt or coupling drive in place of a close-coupled motor.
What to Send for a Quote
- The model and order number from the pump or motor nameplate.
- Horsepower, voltage, and phase from the motor plate.
- For parts, the reference or code number from the series parts table.
- A photo of the pump if the nameplate is worn.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can Monarch electric pumps run continuously?
Yes, the three-phase ACE-300-3SD and ACE-500-3SD are listed for continuous duty on their JM frame motors. The EPE adds dynamically balanced impellers and replaceable wear rings to hold close tolerances over long service. The product data for the smaller single-phase pumps does not give a duty rating. For those, tell us how many hours a day the pump runs and we will check the model before you order.
Can Monarch electric pumps run on 115 or 230 volts?
Many Monarch electric pumps can run on 115 or 230 volts. The ACE-S50SD to ACE-S150SD, the ACE-100, the MJC jet pumps, and the B50S have dual voltage motors you can wire either way. The MJSE-50 runs on 115 volts through its cord. The ACE-300SD and ACE-500SD need 230 volt single phase, and the ACE-300-3SD and ACE-500-3SD need 208-230/460 volt three phase.
Which Monarch electric pumps come with a power cord?
The MJSE-50 and the B50S are the Monarch electric pumps here that come with a power cord. The MJSE-50 has an 8 foot grounded cord for a standard 115 volt outlet, and the B50S parts list includes a cord assembly, code 224965. ACE-S pumps do not come with a cord and are wired into the electrical system. Check the motor plate for voltage before you wire any of these pumps.
