Which ACE Models Have a Franklin FAC Match?

The ACE-33 through ACE-200 C-face pumps were replaced by the Franklin Electric FAC 50S through FAC 200T, and parts interchange between the two. The ACE-S square flange and the ACE-300 and ACE-500 JM frame pumps have no confirmed one-for-one match yet. Send us the model number and we will confirm the current equivalent.

Three ACE Builds by Motor Mount

• ACE (C-face): 1/2 to 2 HP on a 56J C-face motor at 3600 RPM, with a cast gray iron casing and impeller.
• ACE-S (square flange): 1/2 to 2 HP on a square flange motor with thermal overload protection, and an enclosed glass-filled Noryl impeller with a stainless steel hub.
• ACE-300 and ACE-500 (JM frame): 3 and 5 HP on a JM motor at 3600 RPM, in single phase or three phase.

Monarch ACE Pump Repair Parts That Wear

Each ACE build has its own parts list. These are the codes buyers ask about first.

• Mechanical seal: 240250, a 5/8 inch Type 6 seal, fits the C-face ACE and the ACE-S. The ACE-300 and ACE-500 use seal MS-7, code 240070.
• Gaskets: 193900 fits the ACE-33 to ACE-100, and 193910 fits the ACE-150 and ACE-200. On the ACE-S, 193914 fits 1/2 to 1 HP and 193915 fits 1-1/2 and 2 HP.
• Impellers: each horsepower has its own impeller, such as 437790 for the ACE-150 and 437800 for the ACE-200. Moving up in HP means a new impeller and a new motor.
• Flinger: 191790 is shared by the C-face ACE and the ACE-S.
• Spares to stock: the parts list for the C-face ACE suggests keeping the aluminum washer, gasket, and seal on hand.

Hot Water Seals and Winter Drain Ports

The C-face and JM frame ACE pumps carry high temperature mechanical seals rated for water up to 200 degrees F. That makes them a fit for hot water circulation as well as cold water transfer.

Every ACE has ports for bleeding air during priming and for draining the casing before a freeze. A shaft flinger and a large drain hole in the adapter keep water away from the motor bearings.

Water Below the Pump or Solids in It? Skip the ACE

• The water sits below the pump. The ACE is not self-priming, so it needs a flooded suction or a primed casing and a foot valve. A self-priming BSE utility pump lifts water on its own.
• The water carries sewage or solids. The ACE is built for clear water and light transfer, not for passing solids.
• You want a different series. Compare jet, sprinkler, and self-priming series on the Monarch electric motor pump hub.

The ACE-50 uses a 1-1/4 inch suction and 1 inch discharge, and the ACE-75 and ACE-100 use a 1-1/2 inch suction and 1-1/4 inch discharge. The larger pair also takes its own gasket, code 193910, in place of the 193900 used on the smaller models.

Can I upgrade an ACE-150 to an ACE-200 by changing the motor?

No, you cannot upgrade an ACE-150 to an ACE-200 by changing the motor alone. The two share the same casing (437732), electric adapter (437900), and gasket (193910). The impeller is different, code 437790 on the ACE-150 and 437800 on the ACE-200, and the motor moves from 1-1/2 HP (204180) to 2 HP (204190). Swap both the impeller and the motor, and check that your wiring suits the 2 HP motor.
